This page explains how LupaDólar builds its comparison. Its purpose is to make public USD/PEN information in Peru easier to consult, not to recommend a provider or process exchange transactions.
Quote sources and update frequency
The comparison gathers the quotes that its configured sources make available for each provider. A scheduled process attempts to update a picture of the available data, called a snapshot, approximately every five minutes. The page displays the latest stored snapshot; visiting the page does not trigger a new request to exchange providers.
The displayed time belongs to the snapshot being shown. The number of sources actually available can change between updates because of missing data, provider errors, or availability settings. The comparison therefore shows the result available in each snapshot and does not promise that every source will respond at all times.
Buy, sell, and list order
Values are expressed in Peruvian soles per US dollar (USD/PEN).
- Buy: the rate reported for buying dollars from the user. If you are selling dollars, a higher figure may be more favorable, but confirm the applicable conditions.
- Sell: the rate reported for selling dollars to the user. If you are buying dollars, a lower figure may be more favorable, but confirm the applicable conditions.
The list applies those rules to the reported figures. It is not a general provider rating and does not measure safety, solvency, service, speed, limits, fees, or availability.
Failed sources and incomplete data
A source that does not respond, returns invalid data, or is unavailable may be left out of a snapshot. The comparison retains the operational information needed to distinguish available and failed sources; it does not fill a missing quote with an invented figure.
BCRP and SBS references are shown separately because they serve as reference data and are not commercial exchange offers. The public historical view summarizes available quotes using hourly medians; it is neither a volume-weighted average nor an interbank series.
What the comparison does and does not mean
LupaDólar does not handle money, execute exchanges, or guarantee that a quote will still be available when you contact the provider. The final amount may depend on the transaction size, channel, time, fees, availability, and other terms that do not appear in an isolated rate.
Before a transaction, confirm the rate, final amount, fees, limits, and applicable conditions directly with the exchange provider. Comparison information is not personalized financial advice.
Links and commercial relationships
Links to providers let readers review their own conditions. A provider’s position in the list is calculated from reported rates and should not be interpreted as an endorsement. If a page later includes a link or placement with a commercial relationship or sponsorship, it will be clearly identified next to that link and marked accordingly.
If you find an incorrect quote or an explanation that should be updated, send a correction with the URL, source, observed value, and approximate date and time.
